Author Bio: Linda S. Humphrey
She used to say her greatest joy in life was her three daughters Sandra, Suzan and Sheryl. That was before her grandchildren came along. Sandra, the mother of Linda's three grandkids, says to her mom, "I don't remember you loving us this much." To which Linda responds, "I didn't."
She's kidding of course. But grandparenting is something that Linda and Del Humphrey, her husband of 30 years, have found to be a true phenomenon. Spending as much time as possible with Lindsey, Seth and Adam is - as Linda puts it - a true gift.
Another special love of the central Florida journalist is animals. After purchasing some property in Christmas, a tiny town wedged between Orlando and the Kennedy Space Center, the couple quickly acquired rabbits, chickens, ducks, dogs, and a wild rooster named Jerry Lee.
Spending time with children and animals has long been a love of Linda's. Having fun and creating memories for adults is another.
When Linda was working as an events planner for a large recreational resort on Melbourne Beach, Florida, she was often asked by meeting planners and others in the hospitality industry for secrets of her successful venture at the resort and added years in the entertainment industry. They would say, "you should write a book." And she did.
Keep 'Em Busy is a glimpse of the road Linda has traveled for more than 30 years as a motivational speaker, vocalist with a dance band, 10 years as a newspaper correspondent, community college instructor, and 14 years as a recreational director.
Linda has spend countless hours enthusing others; providing happy events and inspirational workshops that spark memories for hundreds of people who have been on the receiving end of her efforts. She hopes that her book Keep 'Em Busy will serve as a guide for those who plan and put together fun events and create a good time for those around them. Laughter is, after all, the best medicine.
